About PAFA Spirit

PAFA Spirit offers girls in grades 3-8 the opportunity to participate on a Cheer, Flags or Poms team in support of the Palatine Amateur Football Association's travel football program.

Football games are played in Palatine or surrounding suburbs on either Saturday or Sunday each weekend of the season.

Our season begins in late July/early August and includes a week long skills camp (evenings 6:00-8:30), weekly practices (either on M&W or T&TH), competitions for the older grades, and football games from late August into November.

Cheer

PAFA Cheer is for girls in grades 3-8. Our primary focus is teaching sideline cheers and halftime routines in preparation for junior high and high school cheer.

Older squads (5th-8th) have an opportunity to participate in 1 (5th grade) or 2 (6th-8th grades) competitions during our season.

The competition charges are included in the registration fee. Competition details will be provided by September.

Flags

PAFA Flags is for girls in grades 6-8.  Our primary focus is teaching halftime routines in preparation for high school flags.

There are weekly practices during the season and performances at two games EACH weekend the Panthers are Home.  There is an optional exhibition at the end of the season.

Poms

PAFA Poms is for girls in grades 6-8. Our primary focus is teaching poms skills through half-time routines in preparation for junior high and high school poms.

There are weekly practices during the season and Poms squads perform at two football games EACH weekend the Panthers are Home.

Squads have an opportunity to participate in competitions during the season. The competition charges are included in the registration fee. Competition details will be provided by September.

Tumbling

Tumbling is an important part of cheerleading. PAFA encourages our participants to enroll in additional tumbling classes and clinics if they wish to continue in High School Cheerleading at a varsity or competition level.

PAFA does not include tumbling as part of the cheer program, however tumbling is incorporated into routines for those girls with tumbling experience. Our coaches are not certified gymnastics/tumbling coaches and thus, to ensure safety, they do not spot or instruct on tumbling techniques.

There are a number of fantastic cheer tumbling programs throughout the Palatine area. We distribute tumbling information throughout the season and it is also here.
